About us

Every shirt has a story.

Every shirt has a story

A football shirt is more than fabric with a badge on it. It is a season, a sponsor, a team and, most of the time, somebody who wore it: on the terraces, in the garden, on the coach to an away game. When a shirt like that disappears into a box in the loft, the story goes with it.

At Shirts N Stories we go looking for those shirts. We buy them second-hand, from private sellers and collectors, and we write down where they came from. What we know, and what we don't. Then they go to someone who really wants them.

How we choose

We only choose shirts that have something to tell. It can be a big story, but usually it is a small one: a name in the neck, a sponsor that no longer exists, a badge that is just a little different from today's. Every shirt exists only once. When it's gone, it's gone. The story stays online.

Honest about condition

A shirt thirty years old is never perfect. So we write down what is there and also what isn't: little holes, cracked prints, stains, bobbling. Every detail we mention is in a photo. You will find the explanation on the Condition explained page, with our four levels: Like new, Very good, Good and Worn.

What we are not

Shirts N Stories is not connected with clubs, players or shirt brands. Club names, badges and brands on the shirts belong to their owners. We use them only to describe which shirt it is. We don't sell new shirts and we don't sell fakes. Where we aren't sure whether a shirt is original, we say so.

A word from [NAAM]

[FILL IN PERSONAL TEXT: two or three sentences in the first person, for example about your first football shirt, why you do this, what you look for. Keep it small and true. Example of tone, adapt or delete: "My first shirt came from my father, with a small hole in the sleeve that he never had mended. I still think that hole is the best thing about it."]
