The summer the club almost got promoted
The previous owner bought this shirt in the spring of 1989 in the club shop, with money from a summer job. Racing Noord were in the promotion race all season and the shirt went to almost every home game. After that it never went outside again: for years it lay between jumpers in a cupboard.
The terracotta hoops have kept their colour and the collar still lies nicely. Inside the neck there is a care label from an old manufacturer, with a handwritten initial on it. The badge is ironed on and has one fine crack, right where the shirt was once folded double.
What we know
Season 1988/89, home shirt, one owner. The hoops and the badge are ironed on and look original. The size on the label matches our measurement.
What we don't know
Whether the shirt really was at the last matchday, as the seller remembers. There is no date on it and no photo from that time.
